THOUGHTS & TIT-BITS FROM JOKAY

Modern Ghanaian Luxury Wedding at The Meridian Banquet in Chicago

Sarafina and Robert met at a University party. Their love in 3 words are respect, commitment and endearing. They came to us to plan their grand wedding after working with a couple of Chicago wedding planners and not having things progress as they wanted. Sarafina is a hands on bride and it was nice working with her as she knew exactly what she wanted!

They wanted a wedding that would shut down the whole of Chicago and proclaim their love in their own way.

The theme I would say was luxury from top to bottom and no detail was left out. From her custom made gowns by the renowned Fashion Designer Pitsgh to his custom made suits, not forgetting their 30 member bridal party who came full of energy and great support and admiration for the couple.

They had a two day celebration which began on the Saturday with their stunning Burnt Orange and Olive Green color theme Luxury Ghanaian traditional wedding in Chicago followed by the white ceremony and reception on the Sunday . The ceremony aisle was beautifully decorated with blush floral centerpieces lined all the way to the front where we had white orchid trees aligned as the focal point of the decor. Here we choose silver chiavari chairs for the guests.

The reception, on the other hand, transported guests to a banquet hall  with kings. We planned the decor with Chicago Lux Rental and Design company Platinum Affairs and it was nothing but perfection. With Lux gold and white chairs to the Lux gold and crystal tables. The look was Lush Glam and we sure accomplished the task.  The reception was fun and had high energy throughout. The couple came ready to celebrate with friends and family and to party! I have not seen them smile this much all through our planning sessions. Their 30 member bridal party attire was stylish as well, with fascinators and the pink color they too came all glammed up! They even had a second change of outfit to white gowns while the bride changed into a bold, crystal covered red gown with a slight side on the skirt of the gown. The gown changed into a black crystal-covered suit.

We ended the night with lots of dancing and fun spaces by their closest friends. Chicago indeed felt their energy and their love was here to stay.
