Many time we forget to treat the process of planning a wedding as a journey instead of a destination. For most it is a 12 month planning journey for some it is 3 months and it is ok either way. The most important this is that you prioritize you and take good care of your mental, physical and emotional health. Here are a few tips to consider:
- Schedule “ME” Time
You need to allocate some time for yourself away from your partner to regroup and to enjoy something that is for you alone. I find that this resets the body and mind during what looks like a stressful time. Which does not have to if you hire the right planner to assist you.
- Go to the gym
Try out some fun work out for fun and move your body often. This is an excellent way to release tension in your muscles and to give you a boost of energy during this time. Having a clear mind while reconciling and making decisions is so important. I recommend trying new activities and exploring new ways to enjoy yourself
- Have a morning or night routine
A routine gives you something to look forward to in the morning or evening. I help you calm down, take a deep breath and to show care and attention to your body. Get a skin care routine going, walk into any show and try out simple products to start and give this a try. Your body and mind will thank you later
- Drink lots of water
Water is good for you. It is good for your skin. For my brides, that make up look will pop ever more if your skin is hydrated. So get a big gallon or schedule a timer that reminds you to drink water during the day and see how your skin will glow during this time. Water is essential so you don’t want to shove this to the side. If you do not do anything list here at all this should be the only one you should vow to do as part of your self care regimen
Talk about clearing your mind and dreaming on paper. This is a noted type of self talk which helps you mentally and emotionally to have clarity in life. Get you a fancy or fun journal and pen that suits your personality and start writing. Share your dreams, fears and thoughts on paper and cleanse your mind.
